FOCHTA students help an elder with her gardening
This photo shows students who help to cultivate the ‘garden’ of a 75 year old grandma. In Malawi, a garden is usually a small plot for growing vegetables instead of flowers. Every student, on being granted a school bursary by FOCHTA has to sign a pledge. This pledge requires them to work hard, to submit a written report each year to the office, and to do a number of hours of community work such as gardening.
