First Batch of VTC Students Have Passed External Exams
All four students who studied IT & Information Systems at our VTC have passed the exams they sat for at ABMA, the UK based Association of Business Managers. The students who passed the Level 4 exams are Yillinase Gondwe, Cutis Libamba, Mphatso Ephraim and Austin Bottoman.
Our IT teacher Emmanuel Msafiri Phiri is delighted with the students’ results. He said that, “as a teacher, I am so happy and proud because this is the first time our students have sat for those exams, and that FOCHTA has started so well”.
Currently our IT Department has 14 students, with two doing Level 5 and the rest in Level 4. The course duration for each level is six months. Level 4 covers computer programming, web technologies, Information systems analysis, etc. Level 5 covers database systems, software development, web development, etc. Level 6 covers software engineering, enterprise architecture, etc.
The curriculum for ABMA is in line with that recognised by TEVETA in Malawi.
We also conduct informal training to students who do a three month course. They are taught Microsoft’s word, power point, publisher, excel and introduction to inter.
