A Former Student Off to India
Nurse Brenda Jeremia was recently sponsored by the Indian High Commission in Malawi to do further training in India in obstetrics and gynaecology.
Brenda, after being supported by FOCHTA in her secondary schooling, later obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree (Nursing & Midwifery). Brenda is now married with a young child. She has been working in the biggest hospital in Blantyre at the Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital as a midwife.
Brenda is the second student to have the opportunity to further her studies overseas. The first one was Clara Lemani, who was sent to Cape Town where she obtained a Master Degree in Science (Statistics). We are pleased to learn that Clara got married in December last year. At the same time, Treaser Thomas, who just graduated in a B Sc degree, also got married in that same month.
